Kid Space has five distinct activity areas: the Art Room, Activity Room, The Backroom, Ninja Room, and Dojo. The separate spaces let homework, creative projects, active play, older-child time, and larger group activities happen without everything being crammed into one room.
The Art Room is used for younger children's homework time, art projects, and provided snack. It gives younger school-age children a dedicated space to settle in, create, and work through the early part of their afternoon.
The Activity Room includes a basketball area, LEGO spaces, a library, imaginative-play areas, an indoor sandbox, open activity space, and televisions available later in the day. It is designed for kids to have choices that include movement, building, reading, play, and social time.
The Backroom is Kid Space's dedicated older-child environment for students in fourth grade and up. It gives older students a place to hang out with friends, work on homework or projects, play games, use creative materials, and have more age-appropriate independence.
A fourth grader may be ready for an environment with more independence and older-peer connection. That is why Kid Space has The Backroom, which is available beginning in fourth grade. The question is not whether a child is too old for care. It is whether their afternoon has an age-appropriate place to belong.
Older students can use The Backroom and take part in activities, homework time, movement, social connection, and age-appropriate choices around the building. Kid Space is designed to give older kids more than a little-kid room with older children added in.
The Ninja Room is a separate matted active-play space with a trampoline, zip line, climbing apparatus, swings, and other active-play equipment. It is distinct from the Dojo and gives children an indoor place to move and challenge themselves.
The Dojo is a separate large matted room used for Jiu-Jitsu and larger active games and activities, such as indoor soccer, freeze tag, dodgeball, drama, and other group experiences. It gives the program a dedicated place for movement that does not take over every other part of the facility.
Elementary students can participate in art, homework support, active play, basketball, LEGO, reading, imaginative play, group games, scheduled activities, and social time. The goal is to give children choices that fit a school-age afternoon instead of a one-size-fits-all waiting room.
Kid Space uses separate spaces, different activity options, and different levels of independence for younger and older students. A kindergartener may need more routine and support with the transition after school. An older child may want The Backroom, friends, projects, and more independence within clear boundaries.
